In the piece Träumerei by Robert Schumann, the pedal should be used to sustain the harmonies and create a smooth, connected sound. It is particularly important to use the pedal during the legato sections to enhance the overall dreamy and lyrical quality of the piece. However, it is also important to be mindful of not over-pedaling, as this can muddy the sound and obscure the delicate nuances of the music. Therefore, the pedal should be used selectively to enhance the musical expression while maintaining clarity in the performance. **
